Stitches!

Stitches!
You can be kept in stitches.
You can count stitches.
I have stitches.
5 lovelies in my left index finger.  I can type with the right hand,
 and hen peck with one finger on the left.
I had so many plans for last minute crafts that would be Christmas presents, 

 but this got in the way on Sunday morning.
No sewing, no  baking, no gluing for me.
I have 9 more days of stitches,

 so I hope that my finger will be able to handle lots

of catch up crafts before that date.

Making the old into New!!!

It's JULY, and the last time I blogged was NOVEMBER!

I really need to get with it.

I have been obsessed with a blog, that I discovered last week...
Refashionista!
 Her goal is to change the way you look at Fashion.

She takes strange pieces  that would never work, and works them so they are fantastic.

Im a novice seamstress. I can work a machine, and thats it.
I decided to put on my Refashionista hat, while at the Salvation Army Thrift, yesterday.
All of their clothes were 50% off, so it was a push in the right direction.
One find was a 2x mommy  top.
It had a really cute print, and thats what made me notice it.
The fabric was a nice jersey, and only $2.00

I took it home and hacked at it, getting a feel of what It might be. I tried it a few different ways.
I had to remember that I never wear prints that close to my face.  I cant do it.
I made a seam around the top, where I cut off the sleeves, and neck line, down to the arm holes.
I put in a bit of elastic, and I had a skirt.

It fits well, a great length and you would never know that it was a throw-away, boring top.

Ill be wearing it today! Woohoo!
